thmall

The name thmall comes from the phrase “Earth Small.”

In Japanese, the “th” in “Earth” is usually pronounced closer to an “s.” Heard through a Japanese ear, the two words begin to blend together: Earth Small, Earthsmall, thmall.

It may not be conventional English. But that is exactly why the name matters to me.

It reflects the perspective I have developed as a Japanese creator — one that exists between languages, cultures, and different ways of seeing the world.

Technology makes distance smaller. It connects people without requiring them to be in the same place. It changes how we work, learn, communicate, share food, exchange ideas, and build relationships.

Through the products I create, I want to reduce the distances that remain between people — physical, cultural, and emotional.

I design and develop my own software products end to end — from the first idea to release and everything after it. Working alone means every decision is mine to make, and mine to live with.

I join client teams as an engineer and work inside their projects. The same craft in a different context: reading an existing codebase, understanding the people around it, and shipping together.
